RFM95W in HopeRF RFM Modules Family
The RFM95W is a sub-family of high-performance radio transceiver modules designed by HopeRF, centered on the Semtech SX1276 LoRa long-range modem. These modules operate primarily in the 868MHz and 915MHz ISM bands, providing ultra-long range spread spectrum communication with high interference immunity. They are a staple in the IoT ecosystem due to their balance of low current consumption and high receiver sensitivity, making them ideal for battery-operated wireless sensor networks and long-distance telemetry links.
Variants within the RFM95W series primarily differ based on their optimized frequency bands, such as 868MHz for European markets or 915MHz for North American deployments. While the underlying silicon remains the SX1276, different SKUs may feature minor variations in package dimensions or pin-out configurations to accommodate specific PCB layouts. Some versions are also tuned for specific output power levels to comply with regional radio regulations.
