iCE40LP4K in Lattice iCE40 Family
The iCE40LP4K series from Lattice Semiconductor represents the high-density logic tier within the iCE40 Ultra Low-Power (LP) family. Designed for battery-constrained mobile and wearable applications, these FPGAs provide 3,520 Look-Up Tables (LUTs) with a focus on minimal static current consumption. By utilizing a 40nm cold-proprocess, they allow designers to offload time-critical tasks from an application processor while maintaining an exceptionally small footprint and low thermal profile.
Variants in This Sub-Family
Variants within the iCE40LP4K family primarily differ by their physical packaging and pin density. Common options include the CM121 (121-ball chip-scale BGA) which offers more I/O flexibility for complex routing, and more compact wafer-level packages (WLCSP) for space-critical designs. Note that logic capacity remains constant at 3,520 LUTs across the LP4K line, but available user I/O counts vary significantly based on the chosen package footprint.
