INA260 in INA219 / INA226 Current Sensors Family
The INA260 family by Texas Instruments is a high-precision, digital-output current, voltage, and power monitor featuring an integrated 2-milliohm precision shunt resistor. It simplifies high-side and low-side sensing by eliminating the need for external sense resistors and layout-sensitive Kelvin connections. Operating over a common-mode voltage range of 0V to 36V, it communicates via an I2C- or SMBus-compatible interface, providing 16-bit resolution for accurate power diagnostics in industrial and telecommunications infrastructure.
Variants in This Sub-Family
| Part Number | Difference | Stock |
|---|---|---|
| INA260EVM (Texas Instruments) | EVM | 5 |
Variants within the INA260 sub-family primarily differentiate based on packaging and qualification levels. The standard INA260AIPW is available in a TSSOP-16 package for general industrial use, while the 'R' suffix denotes large-reel tape packaging for high-volume manufacturing. Designers can also utilize the INA260EVM evaluation module, which includes a USB interface and software GUI to facilitate rapid prototyping and validation of the integrated shunt's thermal performance before PCB layout.
