LT1513 in Linear Tech / ADI LT Series Family
The LT1513 series, manufactured by Analog Devices (formerly Linear Technology), is a 500kHz constant-current/constant-voltage (CC/CV) battery charger family utilizing a SEPIC (Single-Ended Primary Inductance Converter) topology. This architecture allows the input voltage to be higher, lower, or equal to the battery voltage, making it a versatile choice for power-managed systems. It is primarily used for charging Li-Ion, NiCd, and NiMH chemistries while simultaneously powering a system load.
Variants in This Sub-Family
Variants within the LT1513 family are primarily distinguished by their packaging and thermal performance characteristics. The family includes the LT1513 and LT1513-2, with the latter featuring a different feedback pin voltage for specific regulation requirements. Available packages include the 7-lead DDPAK for high power dissipation and the TO-220 for through-hole applications. Industrial-grade versions (I-suffix) provide an extended temperature range for demanding environments compared to standard commercial parts.
