MPF500T in Microchip PolarFire Family
The MPF500T is the highest density member of Microchip Technology's PolarFire FPGA family, providing 481K logic elements with significantly lower power consumption than equivalent SRAM-based FPGAs. These devices leverage non-volatile SONOS technology to eliminate the need for external configuration memory while offering high immunity to single-event upsets. They are primarily utilized in industrial, defense, and communications sectors where thermal efficiency and high-speed serial connectivity are critical system requirements.
Variants in This Sub-Family
Variants within the MPF500T sub-family are distinguished primarily by their package size, speed grade, and operating temperature range. Package options range from compact 584-pin FCVDG packages to larger 1152-pin FCG designs that maximize I/O availability. Temperature grades include Extended Commercial (0C to 100C) and Industrial (-40C to 100C) ratings, allowing engineers to balance thermal constraints with deployment environment demands.
