SHT40 in Sensirion SHT Temperature & Humidity Family
The SHT40 series by Sensirion represents the fourth generation of high-accuracy relative humidity and temperature sensors. Built on a refined CMOSens technology, these digital sensors provide calibrated, linearized signals via an I2C interface. Operating over a wide supply voltage range of 1.08V to 3.6V, the SHT40 is optimized for battery-powered applications requiring low power consumption, high reliability, and a small DFN footprint suitable for high-volume automated assembly in demanding thermal environments.

| Part Number | Accuracy | Package | Voltage | Stock |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| SHT40-AD1B-R2 (Sensirion AG) | +/-1.8% RH | WDFN-4 | 1.08V | 57,564 |
| SHT40-AD1B-R3 (Sensirion AG) | +/-1.8% RH | WDFN-4 | 1.08V | 30,978 |
| SHT40-BD1B-R3 (Sensirion AG) | +/-1.8% RH | UDFN-4 | 1.08V | 12,557 |
| SHT40-AD1F-R2 (Sensirion AG) | +/-1.8% RH | WDFN-4 | 1.08V | 12,260 |
| SHT40I-HD1B-R2 (Sensirion AG) | +/-2.5% RH | WDFN-4 | 4.5V | 868 |
Variants within the SHT40 sub-family are primarily distinguished by their I2C address configurations and packaging options. The R2 and R3 suffixes denote tape-and-reel quantities for manufacturing. Some versions, like the AD1F, incorporate a filtered membrane or protective cover to shield the sensor opening from dust and liquid ingress, while others vary in their internal heater power profiles to suit specific condensation-prone environments.
