CC2640 in TI CC1101 / CC13xx / CC26xx Family

The CC2640 series from Texas Instruments is a family of ultra-low-power, 2.4 GHz wireless microcontrollers specifically optimized for Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE) applications. Part of the SimpleLink platform, these SoCs integrate an ARM Cortex-M3 application processor with a dedicated radio controller and a unique ultra-low-power sensor controller. They provide a cost-effective solution for adding BLE connectivity to power-constrained devices while maintaining a high level of integration, including an onboard DC-DC converter and flexible I/O mapping.

Variants in This Sub-Family

Variants within the CC2640 family, such as the CC2640R2F, primarily differ in their available Flash and RAM configurations, as well as package size. The R2F version specifically offers more available flash for the user application by moving parts of the Bluetooth stack into ROM. Packaging options range from 4x4mm to 7x7mm QFN, affecting the number of available GPIOs and integrated peripherals for specific hardware designs.
