TPS63100 in TPS Switching Regulators Family

The TPS63100 is a high-efficiency buck-boost converter family from Texas Instruments designed for applications where the input voltage can be higher or lower than the regulated output. It features an ultra-low quiescent current of 8uA and uses a constant frequency PWM control scheme. Supporting an input range of 1.6V to 5.5V, these regulators provide up to 2A output current, making them ideal for single-cell Li-ion or multi-cell alkaline battery powered devices requiring stable 3.3V or 5V rails.

Variants in This Sub-Family

Variants within the TPS63100 sub-family are primarily distinguished by their fixed versus adjustable output voltage configurations and their power-save mode settings. Some models are factory-preset for common rails like 3.3V to eliminate external feedback resistors, while the TPS631000 specifically offers an adjustable range. Differences also exist in the default switching frequency and current limit thresholds to accommodate varying inductor sizes and peak load requirements.
