Overview

The Seeed Studio XIAO SAMD21 is an ultra-small development board powered by the Microchip ATSAMD21G18 ARM Cortex-M0+ microcontroller running at 48MHz. Despite its thumb-sized footprint of 23.5mm x 17.5mm, it provides 256KB of Flash and 32KB of SRAM with a modern USB Type-C interface. It is designed as a breadboard-friendly module that can also be surface-mounted onto a carrier PCB using its castellated holes.

Why Choose This Part

It features a high-density design with 14 GPIO pins supporting 11 ADC channels and 10 PWM outputs in a tiny form factor. The board includes integrated status LEDs for power and serial communication, an external 32.768KHz crystal for timing accuracy, and supports battery power via dedicated pads.

Applications

Wearable Electronics
The compact dimensions and low-profile design make it ideal for integration into smart watches, fitness trackers, and clothing-based projects.
USB Peripheral Development
Utilize the native USB support for creating custom HID devices like DIY mechanical keyboards, macro pads, or USB-to-serial converters.
Minimalist Prototyping
Serves as a drop-in 'brain' for larger projects where space is at a premium but 32-bit processing power is required.
