Grove - Relay
Overview
The Grove - Relay is a digital normally-open switch that allows low-voltage microcontrollers to control high-power circuits. It uses a high-quality HLS8-T73 series relay capable of switching AC loads up to 250V and DC loads up to 30V. The module simplifies the electrical interface by using a standard 4-pin Grove connector for signal and power.
Why Choose This Part
The module features an integrated transistor driver and status LED, removing the need for external flyback diodes or driving circuitry. It provides high-current switching capacity up to 15A while maintaining a compact footprint compatible with the Grove prototyping system.
Applications
Getting Started
Connect the module to a Base Shield or any digital I/O port using a Grove cable and set the signal pin to HIGH to close the relay contacts. Ensure that the load does not exceed the 250V AC or 30V DC ratings specified for the HLS8-T73 component. For software, standard digital write functions in the Arduino IDE or Python-based libraries for Raspberry Pi are sufficient to operate the switch.
