SeeedGrove - Finger-clip Heart Rate Sensor
Overview
The 103020024 is a Grove-compatible evaluation board featuring the PixArt PAH8001EI-2G optical heart rate sensor paired with an STM32F103 microcontroller. This finger-clip module uses PPG (Photoplethysmography) technology to detect heart rate by measuring blood volume changes through a green LED and CMOS sensor. It processes raw data on-board and outputs processed heart rate data via a simplified I2C interface.
Why Choose This Part
The integrated STM32F103 handles the complex optical signal processing internally, reducing the computational load on the host controller. The finger-clip form factor provides a stable mechanical interface for consistent skin contact, while the Grove connector enables plug-and-play connectivity with Arduino and Raspberry Pi platforms.

Getting Started
Connect the module to a Grove-compatible base shield and use the provided Seeed Studio Arduino libraries to begin reading heart rate data. Ensure the sensor is powered at 3.3V and use the I2C interface for communication. The on-board SWD pins allow advanced users to re-program the STM32F103 if custom firmware is required.
