Overview

The SparkFun SEN-14347 is a 6-channel visible light spectral sensor breakout board utilizing the ams AS7262. It provides 16-bit measurements across the 450nm to 650nm range with 40nm Full-Width Half-Max (FWHM) filters, allowing for precise color identification and spectral analysis. The board features the Qwiic connection system for solderless I2C integration and includes an onboard LED for illuminating samples.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor uses silicon interference filters deposited directly on the CMOS die, providing high stability over time and temperature compared to traditional filters. The integrated Qwiic ports and 2.7V to 3.6V operating range make it easy to daisy-chain with other sensors and interface with modern 3.3V microcontrollers without complex level shifting.

Applications

Color Matching and Verification
Used in manufacturing or design to verify paint, ink, or textile colors against a digital reference.
Agricultural Monitoring
Analyzing plant health or fruit ripeness based on reflected light characteristics in the visible spectrum.
Chemical Titration
Detecting color changes in liquid reagents during laboratory or industrial titration processes.
