Overview

The SparkFun GPS-RTK2 is a high-precision GNSS evaluation board featuring the u-blox ZED-F9P module. It provides Real Time Kinematics (RTK) capabilities for centimeter-level positional accuracy by concurrently receiving GPS, GLONASS, Galileo, and BeiDou signals. The board is Qwiic-enabled for easy I2C integration and includes a USB-C interface for configuration and power.

Why Choose This Part

This board delivers 10mm-level horizontal accuracy when used with a correction source, significantly outperforming standard consumer GPS modules. It supports multiple simultaneous interfaces including UART, SPI, and I2C, allowing for flexible system integration across various microcontroller platforms.

Applications

Precision Agriculture
Enables autonomous steering and high-accuracy mapping for farming machinery using RTK corrections.
Autonomous Robotics
Provides the necessary location accuracy for outdoor rovers and drones to navigate complex environments.
Geodetic Surveying
Used as a base station or rover for high-accuracy land surveying and infrastructure monitoring.

Getting Started

Connect the board to a PC via USB-C to configure settings using u-blox u-center software. For embedded development, use the SparkFun u-blox GNSS Arduino Library to interface via the Qwiic I2C system or standard header pins. Ensure a high-quality L1/L2 GNSS antenna is used to achieve the full precision of the ZED-F9P module.
