Overview

The 24AA64 is a 64-Kbit (8192 x 8) I2C serial EEPROM capable of operating across a wide voltage range of 1.7V to 5.5V. It is designed for low-power applications, featuring a standby current of only 1 uA and a 32-byte page write buffer for efficient data storage. This AEC-Q100 qualified device is built for reliability with over 1 million erase/write cycles and more than 200 years of data retention.

Why Choose This Part

The device offers robust noise suppression with integrated Schmitt Trigger inputs and output slope control to minimize ground bounce. Its broad operating voltage down to 1.7V makes it ideal for modern low-power battery applications, while the high endurance rating ensures long-term field reliability.

Applications

Automotive Configuration Storage
Storing calibration data and user settings in vehicle sub-systems thanks to AEC-Q100 qualification.
Consumer Electronics
Retaining user preferences and device state in battery-powered handheld devices requiring ultra-low standby power.
Industrial Data Logging
Reliable recording of sensor parameters or system events in environments with high electrical noise using Schmitt Trigger inputs.
System Boot Configuration
Storing boot-up parameters and initialization sequences for microcontrollers in low-voltage systems.

Getting Started

Connect the SCL and SDA lines to your microcontroller's I2C bus with appropriate pull-up resistors. Use the hardware write-protect (WP) pin to prevent accidental data overwrites during power-up or system faults. For prototyping, the 24AA64 is available in a standard 8-pin PDIP package (24AA64-I/P) compatible with breadboards.
