Overview

The 333000 is a compact stepper motor driver breakout board based on the Texas Instruments DRV8825 IC. It provides a simple step and direction interface for controlling bipolar stepper motors with a wide supply voltage range from 8.2V to 45V and up to 2.2A per phase with adequate cooling.

Why Choose This Part

This module features six different microstep resolutions down to 1/32-step for ultra-smooth motion profiles. It includes integrated protection against over-temperature, over-current, and under-voltage conditions to ensure system reliability in industrial environments.

Applications

3D Printers
Driving NEMA 17 or larger bipolar stepper motors for X, Y, and Z axes in desktop fabrication equipment.
CNC Machinery
Precise control of small-scale milling or laser engraving toolpaths using microstepping for high resolution.
Robotic Actuators
Controlling joint movements in robotic arms where high torque and smooth motion are required.

Getting Started

Connect a motor power supply between 8.2V and 45V to the VMOT pins and interface the STEP and DIR pins with any 3.3V or 5V microcontroller. Adjust the onboard potentiometer to set the current limit to match your specific stepper motor's rated current before operation.

Also Consider

A4988 Allegro MicroSystems - A common alternative that supports up to 35V and 2A, though limited to 1/16 microstepping.
TMC2209 Trinamic - Offers StealthChop technology for nearly silent motor operation and StallGuard for sensorless homing.
