VL53L1X FlightSense™ Light, 3D Time-of-Flight (ToF) Sensor Evaluation Board
Active388 in stock

Overview

The Pololu 3415 is a breakout board for the VL53L1X FlightSense Time-of-Flight (ToF) distance sensor, capable of measuring ranges up to 4 meters with high accuracy. Unlike simple IR proximity sensors, this module uses the time it takes for light pulses to travel to a target and back, making it independent of the target's reflectance.

Why Choose This Part

The board includes a 2.8V linear regulator and integrated level shifters, allowing it to interface directly with 3.3V or 5V microcontrollers. Its compact form factor and standard 0.1-inch pin spacing make it ideal for rapid prototyping on breadboards.

Applications

Robotic Obstacle Avoidance
Providing high-speed distance data for mobile robots to navigate complex environments and avoid collisions.
User Presence Detection
Triggering power-on or wake-up functions when a person approaches a kiosk or computer terminal.
Liquid Level Sensing
Measuring the distance to a liquid surface in a tank or container for non-contact volume monitoring.
Inventory Management
Detecting the presence or absence of items on warehouse shelves or in automated dispensing machines.

Getting Started

Connect the sensor to your microcontroller via the I2C bus using the VIN, GND, SCL, and SDA pins. Pololu provides a dedicated VL53L1X library for Arduino that simplifies configuring the sensor's distance modes and reading millimeter-accurate data.
