Pinnacle 100 Development Kit
Overview
The 453-00010-K1 is a comprehensive evaluation platform for the Pinnacle 100 series modem, which integrates LTE-M, NB-IoT, and Bluetooth 5 (nRF52840) connectivity into a single solution. This kit enables developers to bridge long-range cellular WAN links with local Bluetooth Low Energy sensor networks using a Cortex-M4F core. It features an integrated antenna and supports a wide operating voltage range from 2.2V to 5.5V for flexible power sequencing.
Why Choose This Part
The board offers a seamless transition between short-range BLE 5.0 and long-range cellular IoT without requiring separate host microcontrollers. With 1024 KB Flash and 256 KB RAM, it provides ample resources for complex edge logic and Zephyr RTOS-based applications. The inclusion of an M.2 Key E interface and multiple peripherals like 12-bit ADC and 16 PWM channels simplifies hardware expansion and prototyping.

Getting Started
Start development by leveraging the Zephyr RTOS ecosystem, which provides native driver support for the Pinnacle 100 and nRF52840. Use the onboard SWD interface for debugging and the USB-to-UART bridge for serial console access. Ezurio provides extensive documentation and sample code for connecting to major cloud providers via MQTT over cellular links.
