ACHS-7191-000E
Overview
The ACHS-7191-000E is an isolated Hall effect-based current sensor IC designed for AC or DC current sensing in industrial and commercial systems. It features a chopper-stabilized CMOS Hall IC and a low-noise analog signal path to provide an accurate, low-offset voltage proportional to the applied current. With 3 kVrms galvanic isolation, it allows for safe high-side current monitoring without the need for expensive opto-isolators.
Why Choose This Part
The sensor offers an 80 kHz bandwidth and 3 kVrms isolation in a compact SO-8 footprint, making it ideal for space-constrained power electronics. Its factory-trimmed accuracy and near-zero magnetic hysteresis ensure reliable measurements over temperature, while the common-mode transient immunity prevents false readings in noisy switching environments.
Applications
Getting Started
To evaluate this sensor, design a PCB with wide copper traces for pins 1-4 to handle the primary current and minimize thermal rise. Connect VDD to a stable 5V supply with a 0.1uF bypass capacitor and monitor the VOUT pin with a high-impedance ADC or oscilloscope. Ensure the creepage and clearance distances on your layout maintain the 3 kVrms isolation rating required for your specific safety standards.
