Overview

The ACS711KLCTR-25AB-T is a compact, Hall-effect based linear current sensor designed for AC or DC current sensing in low-voltage systems. It provides a ratiometric analog voltage output proportional to the current flowing through the integrated copper conduction path, supporting up to 25A of bidirectional current. The device features an overcurrent fault output and is optimized for space-constrained applications using an 8-pin SOIC package.

Why Choose This Part

This sensor eliminates the need for an external shunt resistor, reducing PCB footprint and thermal management requirements. It features a fast 4.6us response time and 100kHz bandwidth, making it suitable for high-speed switching applications. The integrated electrostatic shield ensures high immunity to stray magnetic fields and voltage transients.

Applications

Motor Phase Current Monitoring
Ideal for measuring phase currents in low-voltage brushless DC or stepper motors to implement closed-loop control.
Battery Management Systems
Provides accurate charge and discharge current monitoring for 3.3V or 5V battery-powered electronics.
Solar Inverter Monitoring
Tracks DC output from solar panels or AC output in micro-inverters within the 25A range.
Overcurrent Protection
Utilizes the dedicated FAULT pin to trigger hardware interrupts during short-circuit or stall conditions.

Getting Started

Connect the current path to pins 1/2 and 3/4, then interface the analog VOUT pin to a microcontroller ADC. Use the FAULT output to drive an interrupt pin for immediate overcurrent response. Ensure the VCC supply is decoupled with a 0.1uF capacitor to maintain the 55mV/A sensitivity accuracy.
