Overview

The ACS723LLCTR-20AU-T is a high-accuracy, unidirectional Hall-effect current sensor designed for sensing up to 20A in space-constrained applications. It features a low-resistance 0.65 mohm integrated conductor and patented temperature compensation to maintain stable sensitivity across a wide -40C to 150C operating range. The device provides a ratiometric analog output proportional to the measured AC or DC current with a fast 5us response time.

Why Choose This Part

The integrated shield drastically reduces EMI interference from the primary conductor to the sensor electronics, ensuring high accuracy even in noisy switching environments. Engineers benefit from the pin-selectable bandwidth, allowing for a trade-off between noise and response time for specific application needs.

Applications

Photovoltaic Inverters
Monitoring DC string current in solar power systems for efficiency tracking and fault detection.
Industrial Motor Control
Providing phase current feedback for low-to-medium power brushless DC (BLDC) motor drives.
Battery Management Systems
Measuring unidirectional charging currents in 5V logic systems to calculate state-of-charge.
Power Supply Monitoring
Integrating into DC/DC converters and server power supplies for overcurrent protection and load logging.

Getting Started

Connect the primary current path to pins 1/2 and 3/4, then interface the VIOUT pin to a 5V microcontroller ADC. Use the BW_SEL pin to toggle between high-bandwidth (80kHz) and noise-reduced low-bandwidth modes. Ensure a 0.1uF bypass capacitor is placed close to the VCC pin for stable operation.
