Overview

The ACS724LLCTR-20AB-T is a high-accuracy, bidirectional Hall effect current sensor designed for AC or DC sensing in space-constrained applications. It provides a ratiometric analog output proportional to the 20A primary current, featuring internal temperature compensation to maintain accuracy across its operating range. The sensor's differential Hall sensing technology provides immunity to stray magnetic fields, making it suitable for dense power electronic environments.

Why Choose This Part

The device features a low 1.2 mOhm primary conductor resistance to minimize power loss and thermal dissipation. Its 120 kHz bandwidth and 4us response time enable high-speed fault detection, while an integrated shield minimizes capacitive coupling from high dV/dt signals on the primary lead.

Applications

Automotive Inverters
Monitoring phase currents in motor drives or DC/DC converters where AEC-Q100 qualification is required.
Solar Inverter Monitoring
Measuring bidirectional current flow to and from battery storage systems or grid-tie points.
Industrial Motor Control
Providing high-speed feedback for closed-loop control of low-voltage brushed and brushless DC motors.
Smart Power Distribution
Detecting overcurrent conditions and monitoring load profiles in industrial automation systems.

Getting Started

Connect the primary current path to pins 1/2 and 3/4, and provide a stable 5V supply to the VCC pin. Use the FILTER pin (pin 6) with an external capacitor to set the desired bandwidth and reduce noise. Ensure the PCB layout includes sufficient copper area around the primary leads to manage thermal performance at the full 20A rating.
