Overview

The ACS724LLCTR-30AB-T is a high-accuracy, galvanically isolated Hall-effect current sensor designed for bidirectional AC or DC measurements up to 30A. It utilizes a differential sensing technique to reject common-mode magnetic fields and features an integrated shield to minimize capacitive coupling from high dV/dt transients. Operating from a 5V supply, it provides a ratiometric analog voltage output with a high 120kHz bandwidth.

Why Choose This Part

This sensor offers near-closed-loop accuracy in an open-loop footprint thanks to its patented integrated digital temperature compensation. It provides excellent noise performance and transient immunity through an integrated shield, while the differential Hall sensing effectively cancels external stray magnetic fields.

Applications

Electric Vehicle Power Electronics
Used in DC/DC converters and on-board chargers for precise current monitoring with AEC-Q100 automotive qualification.
Solar Inverter Monitoring
Provides low-loss current sensing with only 1.2 mOhm primary conductor resistance for high-efficiency power conversion.
Motor Phase Current Sensing
The 120kHz bandwidth allows for fast response times required in closed-loop motor control and inverter protection.
Industrial Load Detection
Detects overcurrent conditions or monitors power consumption in industrial automation and safety systems.

Getting Started

Connect the primary current path to pins 1/2 and 3/4, then monitor the VOUT pin with a high-impedance ADC input. Use the FILTER pin (pin 6) with an external capacitor to trade off bandwidth for improved resolution in lower-frequency applications. Ensure the 5V supply is stable as the output is ratiometric to VCC.
