Overview

The ACS758LCB-100U-PFF-T is a high-accuracy, ratiometric Hall effect linear current sensor designed for unidirectional DC current sensing up to 100A. It features a monolithic Hall IC coupled with a 100 micro-ohm internal conductor, providing galvanic isolation and ultra-low power loss for high-current power electronics. The device is AEC-Q100 qualified, making it suitable for demanding automotive and industrial environments requiring high reliability and thermal endurance.

Why Choose This Part

The integrated shield significantly reduces capacitive coupling from the current conductor to the die, ensuring low noise and stable output even in high-voltage switching environments. Its 4us response time and 120kHz bandwidth allow for fast fault detection, while the factory-programmed offset and gain trim provide a total accuracy of +/-2.4 percent over the operating temperature range of -40C to 150C.

Applications

EV Battery Management Systems
Monitoring high-current DC discharge paths in electric vehicle battery packs with minimal voltage drop.
Photovoltaic Inverters
Measuring DC string currents in solar energy systems to optimize power conversion efficiency.
Industrial Motor Control
Providing feedback for DC motor drives and high-power actuators in automation systems.
Welding Equipment
High-side or low-side current monitoring in industrial arc welders where isolation is critical.

Getting Started

To evaluate this sensor, provide a stable 3V to 5.5V supply to VCC and connect the primary current path to the high-current PFF leads. The output is ratiometric (40mV/A at 5V VCC), so use a high-resolution ADC with a reference tied to the same VCC supply to minimize measurement error. Ensure the PCB layout includes sufficient copper area around the current terminals to manage thermal dissipation at 100A continuous loads.
