Overview

The ADAU1761 is a stereo audio codec from Analog Devices with integrated ADCs and DACs. It provides two ADC channels and two DAC channels with 24-bit sigma-delta conversion and a serial digital audio interface. The device is available in compact surface-mount packages (32-VFQFN exposed pad / CSP) and supports industrial temperature ranges.

Why Choose This Part

Integrated stereo ADCs and DACs reduce external component count and PCB routing compared with discrete converters. 24-bit sigma-delta converters provide high resolution for consumer and voice audio applications. A wide analog and digital supply range makes the part adaptable to common battery and 3.3 V system rails, and the compact VFQFN/CSP packages save board space.

Applications

Embedded audio capture and playback
Stereo microphone or line input and stereo output for portable players, handheld recorders, and consumer audio devices.
Voice processing and conferencing
Front-end ADC/DAC for voice capture, preprocessing, and playback in teleconferencing and VoIP endpoints.
Multimedia in embedded systems
Audio I/O for set-top boxes, smart speakers, and infotainment systems requiring 24-bit conversion.
Prototyping and evaluation
Use in evaluation platforms and reference designs where an integrated codec reduces component count and board area.
