Overview

The AOCJYR-20.000MHZ-M5627LF is a high-precision Oven Controlled Crystal Oscillator (OCXO) designed to provide an exceptionally stable 20 MHz frequency reference. It features a +/-20ppb frequency stability over a wide temperature range of -40 to +85 degrees Celsius, making it suitable for demanding timing applications where standard TCXOs are insufficient.

Why Choose This Part

This OCXO offers a remarkable frequency stability of +/-20ppb in a compact 9.7 x 7.5 mm surface-mount package. Operating at 3.3V with an LVCMOS output, it integrates easily into digital systems while maintaining low power consumption for its class, with a maximum supply current of 122mA.

Applications

Base Station Timing
Provides the primary clock reference for cellular small cells and LTE/5G infrastructure requiring tight frequency synchronization.
GPS/GNSS Receivers
Acts as a stable local oscillator to improve signal acquisition times and positioning accuracy in precision navigation systems.
Test and Measurement Equipment
Serves as an internal frequency standard for portable spectrum analyzers, frequency counters, and signal generators.
Network Synchronization
Ensures timing accuracy in Synchronous Ethernet (SyncE) and IEEE 1588 PTP hardware applications.

Getting Started

When designing with this component, ensure the PCB layout includes a dedicated ground plane and minimal trace lengths for the 20 MHz LVCMOS output to prevent EMI. Allow for a warm-up period after power-on to reach the specified stability as the internal heater stabilizes the crystal temperature. Decouple the 3.3V supply with a 0.1uF and 10uF capacitor pair located as close to the VDD pin as possible.
