Overview

The AS5047D is a high-resolution 14-bit rotary position sensor designed for high-speed motor control applications. It utilizes AMS OSRAM's DAEC (Dynamic Angle Error Compensation) technology to eliminate measurement delay, providing near-zero latency even at high RPMs. The sensor supports multiple output interfaces including SPI, ABI, UVW, and PWM, making it highly versatile for various feedback loops.

Why Choose This Part

The integrated DAEC technology compensates for processing time, resulting in an extremely low dynamic angle error of only 0.02 degrees at 14,500 RPM. Its immunity to external magnetic stray fields ensures reliable operation in electrically noisy environments without the need for expensive shielding.

Applications

BLDC Motor Feedback
Provides high-speed commutation data via UVW or ABI interfaces for brushless DC motors used in industrial automation.
Robotic Joint Position
Utilizes the 14-bit core resolution to provide precise absolute position feedback for robotic arms and actuators.
Electronic Power Steering
Delivers reliable steering angle sensing with immunity to external magnetic stray fields.
Gimbal Stabilization
Offers low-latency angle data required for high-frequency PID loops in camera stabilization systems.

Getting Started

To evaluate the sensor, use the AS5047D-TS_EK_AB adapter board which breaks out all pins to a standard header. Interface with the sensor via the 4-wire SPI bus (up to 10MHz) to configure the zero position and read absolute 14-bit angle data. Ensure a diametrically magnetized magnet is placed within the specified 0.5mm to 3mm air gap above the sensor center.
