Overview

The ASE-25.000MHZ-L-C-T is a 25 MHz CMOS crystal oscillator designed for reliable clock generation in a compact 3.2mm x 2.5mm SMD package. It operates at a standard 3.3V supply voltage and features an enable/disable function on pin 1 for power management. This oscillator provides a stable 50ppm frequency output across an industrial temperature range of -40C to +85C.

Why Choose This Part

This oscillator offers a balanced 50ppm frequency stability in a very small footprint, making it ideal for space-constrained PCB designs. Its low current consumption of approximately 20mA at 3.3V helps maintain efficiency in power-sensitive industrial applications.

Applications

Ethernet PHY Clocking
Provides the 25 MHz reference clock required by many standard Ethernet physical layer transceivers.
Microcontroller Reference
Serves as an external high-speed clock source for MCUs that require a stable CMOS input for high-speed peripherals.
Digital Signal Processing
Acts as a reliable timing source for low-power DSPs and FPGA fabric logic in industrial control systems.
Communication Interfaces
Supplies the necessary base frequency for USB controllers and basic serial communication bridges.

Getting Started

Integrate this component by placing it close to the target IC to minimize trace length and EMI. Ensure a 0.1uF ceramic bypass capacitor is located near the VDD pin (pin 4) and connect pin 1 to a logic high or VDD to enable the output. For prototyping, this 3.2mm x 2.5mm package is best handled with solder paste and a hot air rework station or reflow oven.
