Overview

The ATMEGA128RFA1-ZU is a low-power CMOS 8-bit microcontroller based on the AVR enhanced RISC architecture combined with a high-data-rate 2.4GHz ISM band transceiver. It is designed for IEEE 802.15.4, Zigbee, and 6LoWPAN applications, offering 128KB of self-programmable Flash and 16KB of RAM on a single chip.

Why Choose This Part

This SoC reduces system cost and PCB footprint by integrating the RF transceiver and MCU onto a single silicon die. It features an on-chip 2-cycle multiplier and a high-performance radio with a maximum TX power of 14.5mA, providing an excellent balance between processing power and wireless range.

Applications

Zigbee Mesh Networking
Ideal for creating self-healing mesh networks in home automation and lighting control systems.
Wireless Sensor Nodes
Integrated temperature sensor and low power consumption make it suitable for remote environmental monitoring.
Industrial Monitoring
Uses the 802.15.4 standard to provide reliable wireless data links for industrial telemetry and control.
Energy Management
Deployable in smart meters and energy monitoring systems requiring low-power 2.4GHz communication.
