MCHPATSAMD21G18A-MF
Overview
The ATSAMD21G18A-MF is a low-power, high-performance ARM Cortex-M0+ based microcontroller featuring 256KB of Flash and 32KB of SRAM. Operating at up to 48MHz, it includes a Full-Speed USB 2.0 interface and a Peripheral Touch Controller (PTC) for capacitive touch applications. This 48-pin QFN variant is designed for high-density designs requiring a balance of processing power and power efficiency.
Why Choose This Part
This MCU offers a highly flexible SERCOM (Serial Communication Interface) that can be configured as I2C, SPI, or USART across six separate modules. It simplifies system design by providing a wide operating voltage of 1.62V to 3.63V and an integrated event system that allows peripherals to communicate without CPU intervention, reducing power consumption and latency.
Applications
Getting Started
Developers can use Microchip Studio or MPLAB X IDE alongside the XC32 compiler for development. The Atmel-ICE or Power Debugger are the recommended hardware tools for programming and debugging via the Serial Wire Debug (SWD) interface. For rapid prototyping, the SAM D21 Xplained Pro evaluation kit provides a ready-to-use platform with header access to all IOs.
