Microchip Technology
AVR AVR® ATtiny Microcontroller IC 8-Bit 20MHz 4KB (2K x 16) FLASH 20-PDIP
NRND1,003 in stock

Overview

The ATTINY4313-PU is an 8-bit AVR RISC-based microcontroller featuring 4KB of ISP flash memory and 256 bytes of EEPROM. It is designed for high-performance, low-power applications where a high I/O count is required in a small, through-hole package.

Why Choose This Part

The 20-pin PDIP package provides 18 I/O lines, which is an exceptionally high ratio for a small 8-bit MCU. It features a full-duplex USART and a 16-bit timer with capture modes, capabilities often missing from smaller 8-pin TinyAVR devices.

Applications

System Logic Replacement
Replacing discrete logic or legacy 8051-style microcontrollers in industrial control systems.
User Interface Controllers
Managing keypad scanning and LED matrix displays using the 18 available I/O pins.
Sensor Interfacing
Utilizing the on-chip analog comparator and Universal Serial Interface (USI) for environmental monitoring.
Educational Prototyping
Serving as an accessible platform for learning assembly or C programming on breadboards due to its PDIP-20 package.

Getting Started

Development is primarily done using the Microchip Studio IDE or the XC8 compiler. Hardware programming requires an ISP programmer such as the AVRISP mkII or an MPLAB PICkit 4 connected via the SPI pins, or a debugWIRE compatible probe for in-circuit debugging.

Also Consider

ATMEGA328P-PU MCHPMicrochip Technology - Offers significantly more memory (32KB) and integrated ADC channels in a larger 28-pin DIP package.
