IFXBLDC SHIELD TLE9879
Overview
The BLDC SHIELD TLE9879 is an Arduino-compatible evaluation board designed for driving 3-phase brushless DC motors. It features the TLE9879, an Arm Cortex-M3 based system-on-chip that integrates a motor driver, power management, and communication interfaces into a single package. This shield allows for high-performance motor control prototyping using the familiar Arduino form factor.
Why Choose This Part
It eliminates the need for external gate drivers and microcontrollers by using an all-in-one SoC that supports up to 28V operation. The board includes a high-speed operational amplifier for low-side shunt current sensing and supports various commutation algorithms including FOC, Back-EMF, and Hall sensor-based control.

Getting Started
Plug the shield into an Arduino Uno or compatible baseboard and provide a motor supply voltage between 5.5V and 28V. Use the Infineon ConfigWizard for TLE98xx to generate code and flash the 128KB onboard memory via the 2-wire SWD debug interface. Library support is available via the Arduino IDE for rapid firmware development.
