Overview

The BOOSTXL-BASSENSORS is a BoosterPack plug-in module designed to add environmental and motion sensing capabilities to the Texas Instruments LaunchPad ecosystem. It integrates four distinct sensors to measure temperature, humidity, ambient light, and magnetic fields via a standardized 40-pin header interface.

Why Choose This Part

The module provides a ready-to-use hardware platform that eliminates the need for breadboarding individual sensor ICs. It features high-accuracy components like the TMP116, which offers better precision than standard MCU internal temperature sensors, and uses a common I2C bus to minimize required I/O pins.

Applications

Environmental Monitoring
Using the TMP116 and HDC2010 to track precise climate data in building automation.
Occupancy Detection
Leveraging the OPT3001 light sensor to detect room usage based on changes in ambient brightness.
Non-contact Position Sensing
Utilizing the DRV5055 Hall Effect sensor for detecting the movement of magnetic targets in industrial gear.
Predictive Maintenance
Monitoring motor or enclosure temperatures and humidity to identify potential hardware failures before they occur.
