Overview

The BOOSTXL-DRV8305EVM is a 3-phase brushless DC drive stage based on the DRV8305 gate driver and CSD18540Q5B NexFET power MOSFETs. It is designed as a BoosterPack plug-in module for the TI LaunchPad ecosystem, supporting up to 45V and high-current motor drive applications with integrated current sensing.

Why Choose This Part

This module features three integrated current-shunt amplifiers and a charge-pump gate driver capable of 100% duty cycle operation. It includes programmable dead-time control and comprehensive fault diagnostics via SPI to prevent MOSFET shoot-through and overcurrent conditions.

Applications

Brushless DC (BLDC) Motor Control
Ideal for developing sensorless or sensored commutation algorithms for high-performance BLDC motors.
Permanent Magnet Synchronous Motor (PMSM) Control
Provides precise current sensing and PWM control required for Field Oriented Control (FOC) of PMSM motors.
Robotic Actuators
Suitable for driving high-torque actuators in industrial and mobile robotics platforms requiring compact power stages.
