Overview

The BQ24072EVM is a complete evaluation module for the BQ24072, a highly integrated Li-Ion linear battery charger and system power-path management IC. It demonstrates how to manage power between a USB port or AC adapter and a single-cell Li-Ion/Li-Pol battery while simultaneously powering a system load. The board supports input voltages up to 6.5V and can provide a maximum output current of 1.5A to the system.

Why Choose This Part

The board features Dynamic Power-Path Management (DPPM), allowing the system to be powered while the battery is charging even with a deeply discharged battery. It includes a built-in charge timer for safety and supports a wide input voltage range for compatibility with various external adapters.

Applications

Handheld Portable Devices
Prototyping power management for scanners, GPS units, and portable medical tools.
USB-Powered Equipment
Developing systems that need to transition seamlessly between USB power and battery power.
Battery Charging Systems
Testing charge termination and safety timers for 1-cell Li-Ion or Li-Pol packs.
