Overview

The BQ25570RGRR is an ultra-low power energy harvesting management IC designed to extract microwatts to milliwatts from high-impedance sources like solar, thermal, and piezo-electric generators. It integrates a boost charger and a programmable nanopower buck converter to provide a regulated output voltage while maintaining an extremely low quiescent current of 488 nA.

Why Choose This Part

It features a cold-start voltage of 600 mV and can continue harvesting from inputs as low as 100 mV once started. The integrated Maximum Power Point Tracking (MPPT) optimizes energy extraction from various sources, and the built-in buck regulator eliminates the need for a secondary LDO, maintaining high efficiency up to 93%.

Applications

Solar Powered Wireless Sensors
Extracting energy from small indoor or outdoor photovoltaic cells to power IoT nodes without battery replacement.
Thermal Energy Harvesting
Utilizing Thermoelectric Generators (TEG) to convert waste heat from industrial machinery or body heat into electrical power.
Piezoelectric Energy Scavenging
Capturing kinetic energy from vibrations or mechanical strain to power structural health monitoring systems.
Low-Power Wearables
Managing energy storage in small Li-Ion or thin-film batteries for health trackers and smart jewelry.
