Overview

The CC2538DK is a comprehensive development kit for the CC2538 System-on-Chip, which combines an ARM Cortex-M4 memory footprint with a robust IEEE 802.15.4 radio. It is designed to evaluate Zigbee and 6LoWPAN wireless network applications operating in the 2.4GHz ISM band. The kit provides the necessary hardware to benchmark RF performance and develop mesh networking firmware.

Why Choose This Part

The kit features the CC2538 which offers up to 512KB of Flash and 32KB of RAM, providing ample resources for complex networking stacks. It includes integrated hardware acceleration for AES and SHA encryption to support secure wireless communication without taxing the CPU.

Applications

Zigbee Home Automation
Developing smart lighting, thermostats, and security sensors using the Z-Stack protocol.
6LoWPAN Networking
Implementing IPv6 over low-power wireless personal area networks for direct internet connectivity to edge nodes.
Smart Energy Infrastructure
Prototyping advanced metering infrastructure (AMI) and energy monitoring systems.
