Overview

The DC2259A is a demonstration circuit featuring the LTC6811-1, a multicell battery stack monitor capable of measuring up to 12 series-connected battery cells. It provides high-precision voltage measurements and includes an isoSPI interface for high-speed, RF-immune, local area network communication in high-voltage battery strings.

Why Choose This Part

The board demonstrates the LTC6811-1's sub-1.2mV total measurement error and its ability to withstand high EMI environments using isolated isoSPI. It supports daisy-chaining multiple boards to monitor hundreds of cells simultaneously through a single host processor connection.

Applications

Electric and Hybrid Electric Vehicles
Monitoring large battery stacks in EV/HEV powertrains requiring high safety standards and precision.
Backup Battery Systems
Managing uninterruptible power supplies (UPS) and grid-scale energy storage solutions.
High Voltage Data Acquisition
General purpose measurement of series-connected voltage sources up to 43.2V per board.

Getting Started

To evaluate the system, connect the DC2259A to a PC via the DC2026C Linduino One controller board. Use the provided LTC6811 GUI software or the Arduino-compatible C libraries available in the LTSketchbook to configure registers and read cell voltages.
