Overview

The DPS1133FIA-13 is a single-channel power switch designed to manage power delivery in USB Type-C and Power Delivery (PD) applications. It supports a wide operating voltage range from 4.5V to 24V and can handle a continuous load current of up to 3.5A, making it suitable for modern high-power charging standards. The device features integrated MOSFETs with low 30mOhm RDS(ON) and advanced protection mechanisms to safeguard downstream components.

Why Choose This Part

This device offers comprehensive fault protection including adjustable current limiting, short-circuit response under 2us, and reverse current blocking. Its low 30mOhm internal resistance minimizes power loss during high-current operation, while the V-QFN4040-17 package provides efficient thermal dissipation.

Applications

USB Type-C Power Delivery
Managing power roles and provider/consumer switching in USB-C ports with Fast Role Swap (FRS) support.
Notebook and Tablet Charging
Providing high-current power path control for internal battery charging circuits and docking stations.
USB Peripherals
Controlling power for high-power external devices such as monitors and external storage hubs.
Industrial Port Protection
Serving as a general-purpose power switch in 12V and 24V systems requiring adjustable current limiting and UVLO.

Getting Started

To evaluate the DPS1133, design a PCB following the V-QFN4040-17 footprint with adequate thermal vias to the ground plane. Use external resistors to set the current limit and DV/DT start-up timing according to the formulas provided in the datasheet, and monitor the FAULTB pin for error reporting.
