Motor / Motion / Ignition Controllers & Drivers 2.5A Bipolar Stepper Motor Driver A 595- A 595-DRV8825PWP
NRND4,490 in stock

Overview

The DRV8825PWPR is a high-performance bipolar stepper motor driver designed to operate from 8.2V to 45V. It integrates two H-bridge drivers and a microstepping indexer capable of driving up to 2.5A of output current. The device features a simple STEP/DIR interface, significantly reducing the overhead on the controlling microcontroller.

Why Choose This Part

The DRV8825PWPR supports 1/32 microstepping for smoother motion and reduced resonance compared to standard drivers. It includes built-in protection features such as overcurrent, thermal shutdown, and undervoltage lockout, which increase system reliability. The HTSSOP package with an exposed thermal pad ensures efficient heat dissipation during high-current operation.

Applications

3D Printers
Used for precise control of X, Y, and Z axis movements as well as filament extruders.
CNC Milling Machines
Provides the high voltage and current required for driving NEMA 17 and NEMA 23 stepper motors in industrial machining.
Office Automation
Ideal for scanners, printers, and copiers requiring smooth and quiet motor operation via microstepping.
Robotic Actuators
Enables high-resolution positioning for robotic arms and mobile platforms using up to 1/32 microstepping.

Getting Started

To begin development, connect the STEP and DIR pins to any logic-level MCU output and provide a motor supply between 8.2V and 45V to the VM pin. Use the internal 3.3V reference or an external voltage to set the current limit via the VREF pin to protect your motor. Evaluation can be simplified using the DRV8825EVM hardware module.
