Overview

The DSC1103CI5-100.0000 is a high-performance, low-jitter LVDS MEMS oscillator delivering a stable 100 MHz clock signal. It is designed to replace traditional quartz crystal oscillators, offering superior reliability and mechanical shock resistance in a compact 3.2mm x 2.5mm VDFN package. This part operates across a wide supply voltage range of 2.25V to 3.63V and maintains a tight frequency stability of +/-10ppm.

Why Choose This Part

The MEMS-based architecture eliminates the common reliability issues associated with quartz crystals, such as start-up problems and sensitivity to vibration. It offers excellent frequency stability of +/-10ppm over a wide temperature range of -40C to +105C while utilizing LVDS outputs to minimize EMI and power consumption in high-speed circuits.

Applications

High-Speed Networking
Ideal for providing reference clocks to 10/100/1000 Ethernet, switches, and routers requiring low-jitter differential signaling.
Storage Area Networks
Used in Fibre Channel and SAS/SATA interfaces where signal integrity and timing precision are critical.
FPGA Clocking
Provides a clean differential 100 MHz source for FPGA high-speed transceivers and PLLs.

Getting Started

To integrate this oscillator, ensure the 100 ohm differential termination is placed close to the receiver (FPGA or ASIC) input pins. Verify that the standby pin (Pin 1) is pulled high for normal operation, or low to enter power-down mode. Use a 0.1uF bypass capacitor as close as possible to the VDD pin to maintain low-jitter performance.
