Overview

The E-L6219DS013TR is a fully integrated dual bipolar stepper motor driver capable of driving both windings of a bipolar stepper motor or two DC motors. It operates over a wide load voltage range of 10V to 46V and provides up to 750mA of output current per bridge. The device includes internal PWM current control and integrated power stage protection, making it a compact solution for precise motion control.

Why Choose This Part

This driver features internal PWM current regulation and built-in protection diodes, which reduces the total bill-of-materials and PCB footprint. It is specifically designed to handle unstabilized motor supply voltages and includes thermal shutdown to prevent damage during over-temperature conditions.

Applications

Bipolar Stepper Motor Control
Driving two-phase bipolar stepper motors in full-step or half-step modes for precision positioning.
Dual Brushed DC Motors
Independent bidirectional control of two small DC motors in robotics or automotive auxiliary systems.
Office Automation
Used in printers, scanners, and copiers for paper feed and carriage movement mechanisms.

Getting Started

To evaluate this driver, connect a TTL-level microcontroller to the parallel interface for phase and current magnitude control. Ensure sufficient thermal dissipation by soldering the SO24 package to a wide ground plane, and bypass the VDD and motor supply pins with ceramic capacitors as close to the IC as possible.
