Overview

The EE-SX671P is a non-modulated transmissive photomicrosensor featuring an L-shaped chassis-mount housing and a 5mm sensing slot. It operates on a wide 5V to 24V DC supply and provides a PNP open-collector output capable of driving up to 50mA. This optical switch is designed for high-speed detection with a 1ms response time and includes built-in load short-circuit protection.

Why Choose This Part

The sensor supports a broad supply voltage range up to 24V, making it directly compatible with standard industrial PLC inputs. Its L-shaped form factor and connector-based termination allow for flexible mounting and simplified maintenance compared to pre-wired alternatives. Additionally, the integrated short-circuit protection enhances system reliability in harsh electrical environments.

Applications

Industrial Limit Switching
Used as an end-stop or home-position sensor in automated machinery to detect the presence of metal or plastic vanes.
Rotary Encoding
Monitoring slotted disks to provide pulse feedback for RPM measurement or angular positioning in motor assemblies.
Wafer and Tray Detection
Reliable detection of thin objects passing through the 5mm slot in semiconductor or material handling equipment.
Robotic Arm Calibration
Providing precise mechanical zero-point feedback for multi-axis robotic systems.

Getting Started

Integration requires a compatible 4-pin connector and a 5V to 24V DC power source. Since it features a PNP open-collector output, ensure the load is connected between the output pin and the negative rail (GND). For microcontroller use, a voltage divider or level shifter may be necessary if the sensor is powered at 24V and the MCU logic is 3.3V or 5V.
