Half-Bridge Gate Driver IC Non-Inverting 20-SOIC
Active145 in stock

Overview

The FAN7388MX is a monolithic three-phase half-bridge gate-drive IC designed for high-voltage, high-speed driving of MOSFETs and IGBTs operating up to +600V. It features a built-in common-mode dv/dt noise canceling circuit and a floating channel for bootstrap operation, ensuring reliable performance in harsh industrial environments. The device integrates six drivers in a single 20-SOIC package to simplify the layout of multi-phase motor control stages.

Why Choose This Part

The IC features integrated shoot-through prevention with a 270ns typical dead time and under-voltage lockout (UVLO) for all channels to prevent power stage damage. It simplifies digital interfacing with 3.3V and 5V logic compatibility and offers high noise immunity with an allowable negative Vs swing of -9.8V at VBS=15V.

Applications

3-Phase Motor Inverter Drivers
Used in variable frequency drives (VFDs) and brushless DC (BLDC) motor systems to drive the high-side and low-side power stages.
Industrial Sewing Machines
Provides precise motor control in textile manufacturing equipment where compact 3-phase driving is required.
Air Conditioning Inverters
Manages the compressor and fan motors in HVAC systems using the integrated 650mA source current capability.

Getting Started

Ensure proper bootstrap capacitor sizing based on the operating frequency and gate charge of the driven MOSFETs/IGBTs. Decouple the VDD and VBS pins with low-ESR ceramic capacitors placed as close to the IC pins as possible to minimize inductive ringing during switching. For prototyping, utilize the 20-SOIC footprint with a dedicated ground plane to manage thermal dissipation and high-speed signal integrity.
