IFXFM25V02A-G
Overview
The FM25V02A-G is a 256Kbit non-volatile memory IC utilizing Ferroelectric RAM (F-RAM) technology, which combines the speed of SRAM with the persistence of Flash. It operates over a 2V to 3.6V supply range and features an SPI interface capable of clock speeds up to 40 MHz. Unlike standard EEPROM, this device offers NoDelay writes and extremely high endurance for data-logging applications.
Why Choose This Part
The primary advantage is its endurance of 100 trillion read/write cycles, which effectively eliminates wear-out concerns in most embedded designs. It also features 151-year data retention and significantly lower power consumption than serial flash, drawing only 2.5mA at 40MHz.

Getting Started
To integrate this part, configure your MCU SPI peripheral for Mode 0 or Mode 3. Since F-RAM writes at bus speed without a polling period, you can simplify your driver code by removing the 'write-in-progress' polling loops required for EEPROM. For prototyping, the 8-SOIC package is compatible with standard SOIC-to-DIP adapter boards.
