IFXFM25W256-GTR
Overview
The FM25W256-GTR is a 256Kbit non-volatile Ferroelectric RAM (F-RAM) memory organized as 32K x 8 bits. It utilizes a high-reliability ferroelectric process that provides data retention for 151 years and operates over a wide voltage range of 2.7V to 5.5V. Unlike standard EEPROM or Flash, F-RAM performs write operations at bus speed without internal write delays.
Why Choose This Part
This device features extreme endurance of 100 trillion (10^14) read/write cycles, far exceeding standard EEPROM limits. It supports a 20 MHz SPI clock frequency and offers NoDelay writes, eliminating the need for polling or wait states during data storage. Power consumption is notably low, drawing only 2mA at 20MHz and 15uA in standby mode.

Getting Started
To integrate this part, interface it with any microcontroller via the standard 4-wire SPI bus (Pins: CS, SCK, SI, SO). Ensure the WP pin is tied high if hardware write protection is not required. Software implementation is straightforward as the device uses standard SPI opcodes similar to EEPROMs, but without the need for write-cycle timing loops.
