FRDM-K64F
Overview
The FRDM-K64F is a low-cost development platform for the Kinetis K64, K63, and K24 microcontrollers, based on the ARM Cortex-M4 core. It features an onboard Ethernet port, crystal-less USB operation, and a microSD card slot for data logging and storage applications. This board is designed for rapid prototyping with a form factor compatible with the Arduino R3 pin layout.
Why Choose This Part
The board provides a high performance-to-power ratio with a 120MHz Cortex-M4 core including an FPU and 1024KB of Flash. It simplifies hardware design through crystal-less USB operation and offers extensive expansion options via Arduino-compatible headers and onboard peripheral access.
Applications
Getting Started
Developers can use the MCUXpresso SDK and IDE, or the ARM mbed online compiler, for rapid firmware development. The board includes an OpenSDAv2 serial and debug adapter for easy programming and debugging without external hardware. Ensure you have a micro-USB cable for power and data, and refer to NXP's Kinetis SDK for peripheral driver examples.
