Active4 in stock

Overview

The FRDM-K82F is a low-cost development platform for the Kinetis K80, K81, and K82 MCUs, which are based on the ARM Cortex-M4 core running at up to 150 MHz. This board is specifically designed to evaluate hardware-accelerated security features and flexible serial communication in a form factor compatible with Arduino R3 pin headers.

Why Choose This Part

This platform features a crystal-less USB design and a built-in ROM bootloader to simplify firmware updates and reduce BOM costs. It includes significant memory resources with 256KB of SRAM and 256KB of Flash, along with dedicated hardware for cryptographic acceleration that offloads security tasks from the main core.

Applications

Secure IoT Gateways
Utilizes the onboard hardware acceleration for AES, DES, and SHA along with the hardware random-number generator for secure cloud connectivity.
Secure Point-of-Sale
Leverages the multiple levels of embedded flash security and cryptographic acceleration (CAU) for handling sensitive transaction data.
Human-Machine Interface (HMI)
Integrated low-power hardware touch sensor interface (TSI) allows for the development of capacitive touch buttons and sliders.
High-Performance Embedded Systems
The 150 MHz Cortex-M4 core with FPU and DSP instructions combined with 256KB RAM supports complex signal processing and control algorithms.
