FRDM-KL03Z

NXP USA Inc.
KL03 Freedom Kinetis ARM® Cortex®-M0+ MCU 32-Bit Embedded Evaluation Board
Active3 in stock

Overview

The FRDM-KL03Z is an ultra-low-cost development platform for the Kinetis KL03 series, the world's smallest ARM-based microcontroller. Featuring an ARM Cortex-M0+ core running at 48MHz, this board provides 32KB of flash and 2KB of RAM in a breadboard-friendly form factor. It includes the OpenSDA debug interface, allowing for simple programming and debugging without external hardware.

Why Choose This Part

This board features the Bit Manipulation Engine (BME), which reduces code size and improves performance for peripheral bitwise operations. It offers a rich set of peripherals including a 12-bit ADC and 6-bit DAC within a highly efficient 24-pin package footprint. The integration of OpenSDA allows for easy serial communication and flash programming over a single USB connection.

Applications

Space-Constrained Wearables
Ideal for prototyping extremely small devices where the KL03's tiny physical footprint and low power consumption are critical.
Battery-Powered IoT Nodes
Leverages the LLS and VLLSx power modes to extend battery life in wireless sensor applications.
Portable Consumer Electronics
Suitable for designing small gadgets that require 12-bit ADC precision and bit-level hardware manipulation.
