FT-MOD-4232HUB
Overview
The FT-MOD-4232HUB is a USB 2.0 Hi-Speed evaluation and expansion module centered around the FT4232H bridge IC. It functions as a specialized USB hub that provides four asynchronous serial interfaces while supporting up to three additional downstream USB ports. The module is USB bus-powered by default but includes an external power input pin to support high-power downstream peripherals.
Why Choose This Part
It combines a Hi-Speed USB hub controller with the versatile FT4232H bridge, allowing for complex multi-interface setups without external USB hubs. The module supports the Multi-Protocol Synchronous Serial Engine (MPSSE), enabling high-speed communication over JTAG, SPI, and I2C protocols at data rates up to 30Mbps.

Getting Started
Connect the module to a PC via a USB Hi-Speed cable to begin development using FTDI's D2XX or VCP drivers. For custom protocol implementation such as SPI or I2C, use the LibMPSSE libraries available for Windows and Linux. Configuration of the device descriptors can be performed using the FT_PROG utility to modify the onboard 93LC56 EEPROM.
