FT231XS-U
Overview
The FT231XS-U is a compact USB-to-UART bridge IC designed to facilitate Full Speed USB 2.0 communication for embedded systems. It features an integrated MTP-ROM for device configuration and supports supply voltages between 3.3V and 5V. The device simplifies the transition from legacy serial designs to USB by handling the entire USB protocol on-chip.
Why Choose This Part
This IC reduces BOM cost and PCB area by integrating the clock circuit and MTP-ROM, eliminating the need for an external crystal or EEPROM. It offers low power consumption with a typical supply current of 8mA and a dedicated USB suspend mode. The inclusion of four configurable GPIO pins provides additional flexibility for status LEDs or handshake signals.
